Saint Cecilia is a painting by John William Waterhouse, completed in 1895. It depicts Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music, seated with a lyre in a contemplative pose. Waterhouse's signature Pre-Raphaelite style is evident in the artwork's intricate details, vibrant colours, and romanticised atmosphere. The painting captures the ethereal beauty and spiritual essence associated with the saint, embodying the fusion of art and devotion characteristic of the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
